Evelyn Project

The Evelyn claim was acquired in 2008 by way of a “sorteo” which is a lottery conducted by the Mexican government for mineral claims. The claim is 506 hectares and located in northwest Sonora, Mexico approximately 150 kilometers northwest of the capital city, Hermosillo. There are numerous arsenal mine workings throughout the property.  This claim’s initial value is based upon its close proximity the La Herradura and Noche Buena Gold mines owned by joint venture of Newmont Mining and Industrias Penoles, the second largest Mexican mining company. The property is also “on strike” with the El Chanate mine now operated by AuRico Gold.  Some initial rock chip sampling is the only work to date completed for the site.
